We’re glad you asked, and we’re here to help. As a union member, you have the right to vote for how our union is run, and who runs it. Learning how and when to vote is the best first step.

As a member, you will receive your voting ballot by mail after the nominations meeting held in October.
(there will be a package of envelopes to keep your vote anonymous)
When voting… you have options.
On your ballot, there may be more than one SLATE, or it may have individuals running INDEPENDENTLY.
A slate is a group of candidates that run in multi-seat or multi-position elections on a common platform. (A vote for a slate, is a vote for everyone on it)
An individual running independently has no slate. They represent themselves for whatever position they choose. (A vote for an individual is a vote for them only)
REMEMBER
If you don’t want to vote for an entire slate, you may vote for individuals by marking next to their name.
In the event of choosing individuals, DO NOT mark in the box next to a slate.
This CANCELS your individual votes, and counts the whole slate as a vote.
Don’t make this mistake…
It may cancel your vote…
Do not tamper with your return address label.
If you tamper with your pre-stamped envelope, your vote won’t be counted.
Regardless of who you vote for, you SHOULD VOTE.
You have the right to, and you should feel encouraged to do so.
